Converting Single Samples (WAVE, AIFF files) to the Fusion™

  1. Click the Add button above the Import List
  2. In the Open dialog, select one or more WAVE or AIFF files you would like to import. Click Open when you are done.

...OR

  1. Click the Add Folder button above the Import List
  2. Select the folder that contains the items you want to convert. Fusion Convertor will put all the WAVE and AIFF files contained within that folder tree into the Import List.
  3. These operations add files to the Import List. You can add more samples from a different location, delete certain samples by hitting DEL while the sample is selected, or you can be finished with it.
  4. Make sure the Options are what you want them to be. The most critical Option is whether you want each sample to have it’s own Program (Each Sample->Seperate Fusion Program), or you want all the samples to be mapped across the keyboard in one Program (All Sample Files->One Fusion Program).
  5. Click Import All to convert all the samples into the Fusion. This will a) convert each sample into Fusion format, b) create one or more Multisamples that map the samples across the keyboard, and c) create one Program that references the Multisamples that are created.

...OR

  • Select all the samples you want to convert in the Import List, and drag all of them into the Bank View List by holding down SHIFT when you drag. If you drop them on the New Bank folder, it will create a new Bank for the Samples, Multisamples, and Programs that are created. If you drop them on a pre-existing Bank, it will put the items into that Bank.

Converting Akai S-1000/3000 Volumes to the Fusion™

  1. Click the Akai Browser button above the Import List, this changes the Import List into the Akai Browser.
  2. If you have an Akai S-1000/3000 CD in your CD-ROM Drive, you will see it listed in the Akai Browser. (If you do not, and you think you should be, see Troubleshooting for possible solutions.)
  3. Select the Akai Volume, Partition, or entire disk that you want to convert. Click the Add Akai button to add this item to the Import List.
  4. Click the Import List button above the Akai Browser. This switches the view back to the Import List, where you should find the Akai objects that you selected.
  5. Click Import All to convert all the Akai objects the Fusion; this will create New Banks for every Akai Volume converted (see below for specifics).

...OR

  • Select all the Akai objects you want to convert in the Import List, and drag all of them into the Bank View List by holding down SHIFT when you drag. If you drop them on the New Bank folder, it will convert each Akai Object is this manner:

Single Akai Volume: Creates a new Bank and writes one Fusion Program for each Akai program (providing that it fits) and one Fusion sample for every Akai sample. (Note: some -L/-R Akai samples may be combined if it is sonically appropriate to do so.)

Akai Partitions or Entire Disks: Creates a new Bank for each Volume contained in that Partition or Disk. See above for particulars.

If you drop the Akai Objects on a preexisting Bank, it will put all converted Fusion Programs, Multisamples, and Samples into that Bank.

Converting SoundFonts/Akai S-5000 Programs (.akp) to the Fusion™

  1. Click the Add button above the Import List
  2. In the Open dialog, select one or more SoundFonts (files ending in the extension “.sf2”) or Akai S-5000 Programs (“.akp”)that you would like to import. Click Open when you are done.
  3. This adds the selected files to the Import List. You can add more SF2/AKP’s from a different location, delete certain objects by hitting DEL while the object is selected, or you can be finished with it.
  4. Click Import All to convert all SF2/AKP’s into the Fusion. This will create a new Bank for every SF2/AKP that is chosen.

...OR

  • Select all the SF2/AKP’s you want to convert in the Import List, and drag all of them into the Bank View List by holding down SHIFT when you drag. If you drop them on the New Bank folder, it will create a new Bank for the Samples, Multisamples, and Programs that are created. If you drop them on a preexisting Bank, it will put all the items into that Bank.

Converting Objects By Dropping Them On Fusion Convertor™ Icon

  1. Open Fusion Convertor™ proper and click on Options. Select Convert Immediately to Current Volume Folder if you want the dropped files to go straight into the Fusion HD/memory card or predetermined Archive. Or select Add To Import List if you would like the action to simply add items to the internal Import List. They will show next time you open Fusion Convertor™. Close Fusion Convertor™.
  2. Drag any file or folder and drop it on the Fusion Convertor™ icon; this will start the process you selected above.
